Book recommendations needed about different beliefs

The DC go to an excellent school, but it's catholic.

DH and I are not religious in the slightest, but this is a good school (and the only one in the area that had spaces), very good at maths in particular. We found out today that they are teaching creationism.

We need to counteract that because for us it's... Well daft.

We spoke to another parent and she said it is a very good school, and her and her husband are also not religious at all, so when her child comes home from school telling them about this, she tells him it's just fairy tales and to take no notice.

It's a nice school, the teacher, kids and parents are really nice.

I want the DC to be tolerant of others beliefs no matter what religion they happen to be, but let them know it is just that, beliefs and not facts.

I would like some books to show them world religion, and evolution.

Can anyone recommend any books?

I was looking at this one www.bookdepository.com/Story-Life-Steve-Williams/9781786033420 as a start

Creationism isn't part of Catholic teaching. Speak to the school.

It is in this school. Speaking to the school won't help. This is what they teach, I've seen the books (we have to buy their school books, we're in Spain)

Well, I would be asking them to explain why they are teaching creationism when it isn't part of Catholic doctrine. If you want your DC to understand why the school is teaching what it teaches then I would want to know their reasoning, because "we're Catholic" isn't it.

Seriously, speaking to the school will make zero difference.

The DC are 7 so we'll teach them different at home.

The religion lesson is an hour a week, as long as we teach them it's just stories then it will be fine.
