Geoffrey from Rainbow has sadly passed away. I loved that show when I was a little girl. :(

Oh no!!!! I love Rainbow and still listen to a different one every morning when I get ready for work. Part of my childhood.

So sorry for his family and everyone who loved him

He had a good run of stable employment for an actor.

RIP and to the family.

I suppose I'm biased but I think children's programmes from that era were great.

It is a shame though. I loved Rainbow.

How sad. Very fond memories of watching it, sitting on the shag pile carpet with a bowl of spaghetti hoops . I loved the Rod, Jane & Freddy bits.

Jane was apparently married to both Rod and Fteddie at diffreent times obviously i liked cockle shell bay best

I LOVED Rainbow when I was little. I remember faking sickness so I could go home early from school to watched it at lunchtime.

Not sure about posters above making jokes about it. However mild. Too soon. He's a real life person with loved ones.

RIP and thoughts for his family. Later in life he ended up doing non-acting jobs, perhaps because of being typecast.

Only ever saw the programme during one week- school kitchens broke down, and it was the only week I ever went home for lunch. Our cat loved one of the sequences. Later on someone I met had played football with Zippy, though presumably not when he was in character!

So sad, another chunk of my childhood gone. I loved Rainbow, I used to come home from school every Wednesday lunch time, my nan and grandad would come over with fish and chips and I’d watch Rainbow before going back to school. The 80’s had the best kids tv, far better than the crap my kids now watch in YouTube!

So sad. Used to love Rainbow. It wasn't until I was an adult that I realised George was a boy! Also, (Taken from the link):

This made me really quite sad today, I absolutely loved Rainbow, such happy memories watching Geoffrey, Bungle, George and Zippy. Agree with Enid crass to make jokes on the day he died. RIP Geoffrey.

Another one who was part of my 70s childhood. Sad.

Ah I loved rainbow too. I used to come home for lunch at infant school and would watch it with a plate of fishfingers.
I remember honestly thinking that all the people lived behind the tv.

Me and DH have a Zippy and George that come everywhere with us, today is a very sad day in our household.
