A question about mince

Hi all! I defrosted some beef mince overnight the night before last, but I did so by leaving it out on the side rather than in the fridge. Couldn't be arsed to cook it last night. Will it be ok to cook today and eat tomorrow?!

Thanks in advance! Smile

I would do this. As long as it smells ok and was fresh when you froze it.

Thanks, Do! I'm trying really hard to minimise food waste at the moment. (Not doing a great job, though....)

So... you got it out saturday night, left it out to defrost (for how long?) and want to cook it tonight to eat Tuesday?

I'm very relaxed about food safety etc, but i wouldn't with something that's been left on the side to defrost. Parts of it could have gotten fairly warm and be an ideal bacterial breeding ground.

If it was only out for a few hours, or had defrosted in the fridge i'd have no issue at all.
