Thanksgiving

My DD is friends with a Canadian girl, who is very homesick (at school in the UK). DD has asked her to our house for a Thanksgiving meal. What food should I do? I want to make a good job of it!

That’s very sweet of you! Canadian here.

We usually have turkey, stuffing (but dependent on the person eating, it’s hit or miss with people), bread rolls, mashed potatoes, vegetables, sometimes a casserole, cranberry sauce. Usually finished with pecan or pumpkin pie.

Honestly the meal isn’t that different from a Sunday carvery when I lived in Wales. Turkey and the fixings.

Pancakes and maple syrup as well?

Thank you both for those suggestions! I will base my meal on them. I have made Pumpkin pie in the past, so will have to dig out the recipe.
