...how do you feel about the £90k + of your subs spent on defending Kezia Dugdale in her defamation case, and the decision to stop funding?
If this has escaped your notice, Ms Dugdale was Leader of Scottish Labour when she wrote a column for the Daily Record allegedly defaming Stu Campbell of Wings over Scotland. Having offered her chances to apologise and retract, which she refused, he has proceeded to sue for £25k. The case is ongoing, and has already cost over £90k for her legal fees, £40k for his. Nothing is guaranteed, but atm it looks as if he will win.
The Daily Record initially offered to fund her legal advice, but the Labour Party insisted they took over, and have now declined any further funding. At this point, Ms Dugdale wishes to appeal against the decision to have the case heard in court, and again seeks dismissal; her claim is that there is no case to answer but the Sheriff found against her. The Daily Record have again offered "legal support" but Ms Dugdale is complaining of being let down by the Labour Party.
If you're a member of the Labour Party anywhere in the UK, it's your money she wants to spend. How do you feel about that?
