PS4 problems-son can’t play Fortnite?

Hi, I bought a PS4 for DS and we’ve done all the interminable registration processes/ account creation etc. Now it’s saying he can’t access Fortnite because he’s not 12 for a few months. I’m completely stumped- most of his friends have been playing it for ages! Has anyone else had this problem? Is there any way round it?

His friends would have set up the account with an invented date of birth that makes them old enough to play the games they want. You could try setting up a new user account with an earlier date of birth

Have you created his account with his actual date of birth? He won't be able to play it if you have, due to restrictions. You'll need to set up another account.

You'll need to set up another account and lie about his age

Makes a mockery about how providers try and protect our kids though really. They have age ratings for a reason.

Doesn't sound like a problem at all to me :-)

Yes lying 😂

God I had no idea! So many of his friends play it, I assumed the PEGI was just guidance like film ratings. Bugger Sad

Haverhill - Fortnite is fine regards PEGI 12. It is guidance, and content is OK for an 11 year old.

It's the other users that you need to be aware of, adults masquerading as children when playing online and in chats.

Agreed, it sounds more like a stroke of good fortune.
