Tell me I'm not alone. 10 days beforehand I have headaches, diarrhoea, low mood, pains all over my body and can't sleep. When I come on the diarrhoea worsens then dies down. I can't even get my words out when I'm on I'm so ditzy too

I sympathise, the low mood, loose stool, pain and lack of sleep were things I used to suffer with awfully. Think God for mirena stopping my periods and putting an end to the suffering! Warm bath for you my love, rest and be kind to yourself. Periods are hideous

No, they suck. For the last two years I've had periods lasting 60-90 days each, off for 5-14 days then starting again. Absolutely horrendous. Superplus tampon and always ultra max pad lasting 30 minutes max. In the last six months I've finally seen a specialist who has prescribed meds to stop them and it's been life changing. Finally getting to enjoy being married and spending time with DW without worrying about my periods.

Know the feeling.. I had mine last week lasted 8days.. finished Monday only to come back last night.. been all over the place since I went in the pill 6 months ago that I don't get a break from them.. blasted things

Maria1982 · 29/09/2018 20:23

Nah you’re not alone, I hate them too! I get loose stools when starting, period pain, feeling faint... whole lot of fun!

Have you spoken to your GP about it? Some things do help! (Yasmin pill made mine less painful, mefenamic acid can make them less heavy andso on)

BigbreastsBiggerbeard · 29/09/2018 20:23

I can't stand them. Like you, horrible lead up and the the messy painfulness that is the actual bleeding. More than half my month is taken up with discomfort of some kind relating to my period.

I have pcos and do want another child at some point so don't want to start messing round with hormonal contraception. Does anyone else get shooting pains all over their body?

OP posts:
drquin · 29/09/2018 20:43

Yes to shooting pains ..... although not so much now, back on the Depo and touch-wood no period pains or symptoms to speak of.

Wondering if I can blame it for my weight gain though 🤔

FurryAndObnoxious · 29/09/2018 20:51

Are anyone's worse after kids?

Veganfortheanimals · 29/09/2018 20:58

Desogestrel...is what I'm on..one a day ,every day,no period ,no pms .bliss

Munder · 29/09/2018 21:03

Mine are OK flow wise after having children. They used to be really heavy.

I'm on mine at the moment. Dd1 said to me 'have you farted? " this evening when I hadn't. Dd2 at bedtime said" why do you smell? "

It's the end of my period - that old blood bit.

Thanks guys.....
