I was just wondering can they get involved if it’s still ‘active’ as opppsed to ‘case closed’

If someone complained about how ss delay with the case would a local councillor refuse to get involved if the case was still being looked at-do they have to wait till ss have concluded before having involvement

I don't think councillors get involved in personal issues.

If it’s your case, OP, there will be an official process for complaining about how social services handled the case.

I would go down that route first and see where that goes before involving anyone else.

I just wondered as had a serious complaint
Spoke with local councillor who was shocked. Promised help. Lots of correspondence etc, very helpful and willing to help resolve what has been an awful situation
It was suggested I should go to the papers but I declined as I’m not really wanting my business out there it’s quite upsetting.
More correspondence and offers to assist then suddenly I got told ‘I can’t be involved in this case at all now’ totally shut down

All I can think is there is still some investigation ongoing ?

Politicians cannot get involved with ongoing child protection investigations in the same way that they cannot try to intervene in a police investigation. If this was possible then the whole process could be very open to political interference .
I imagine that what has happened in this case is that after making an enquiry or discussing with a colleague , the politician in question was informed of this .

Yes this is what I thought. I’m assuming it’s still open 😔
