First time mum; need to sound off!

Hi all!

So my last period was 17th July, I slept with someone on 28th and then low and behold I didn’t come on my period when I expected on 14th expected, positive test on 15th.

Went for an early scan on 30th August; measured at 5+6 give or take a few days either side

Told the father, who I’m not with and have no intention of being with, his response was that it’s no possible as he had a vasectomy 8 months ago with a confirmed 0 sperm count

Completely ignores me, won’t have of it!

Before him the last person I slept with was 30th June and I had the 17th July period

My opinion is he’s either a) not had a vasectomy or b) has but it’s failed

Please can anyone back up my opinion? Feel like I’m going mad as he’s making out I’m the Virgin Mary!!

You’re not going mad - scan has confined the baby must be his! It is possible to have a period / bleed after conception but if you’ve had the scan the date of conception is settled. Reiterate to him that his vasectomy must have failed, and he might want to get that looked at. And then ignore him for the remainder of your pregnancy- he sounds like a twit.

It could be the other guy as I had two periods after conception. I booked an early scan and expected to see a tiny baby at 4/5 weeks but I was 14 weeks pregnant

Ihatebeans - Did you measure at 14 weeks though? I measured exactly what I expected.

Aveatquevale - Vasectomy guy says he’s been checked again and still 0 sperm count but I don’t believe that for one minute so have said I’m sure he won’t showing me proof

I'd say from your scan you conceived (ovulated) around 1st/2nd August.

It's very unlikely it's the other guy.

Did you not use contraception with either? If you did with the other guy it's even less likely it's him.

Tell him as soon as the baby is born (if you're keeping it?) you will apply to the CSA and get a court ordered DNA test.

No contraception with either, was currently under the Liverpool women’s for fertility investigations as prior to that I’d been Amy able to conceive, so finding out i was pregnant was a huge shock. Definitely going to go down the dna test route, I just want him to accept responsibility that’s all
