What do you buy but barely use?

Lip balm. Once a year I might need it so I buy a stick. I use it for a couple of days until I don't need it, then lose it. It might turn up several years later, but by that time I'd rather buy a new one.

Cheap biros. Has anybody ever used all the ink in one? They just evaporate somehow. Again, one might turn up several years later with an elderly cough sweet stuck to it, but you just throw it and get a new one.

Anything else?

Heinz Tomato ketchup. Now the children are older it’s rarely touched but somehow it feels like something I ought to have in the fridge.

Disposable razors. I think I ought to shave my legs but then I really can’t be bothered unless I’m going somewhere special and nobody seems to notice the difference.

Hand cream. My hands are so dry but I haaaaaate the feeling of it on my hands! So I buy more, hoping it won't feel so greasy and slimy this time...and the next time...

Tinted moisturisers, foundations, concealers. All promising to give me perfect skin, all make me look like Odo the Shapeshifter. So they sit there mostly full.

Spice mixes. They smell so good but I usually go rogue and make up recipes as I go along, and never reach for a ready made mix.

Cheese. DH, I and DD are not big cheese eaters. But DH would take a cheese sandwich to work semi regularly. And DD would eat cheese and crackers as supper/ snack occasionally. I buy the massive cheddar block from Aldi (as they don't do smaller sizes), which sits in the fridge going mouldy. I eventually bin it and buy another block when I next do my food shop because, there's a remote possibility that DH or DD might need to eat cheese in the next week or so....

Makeup. Love buying the stuff, wear it maybe three times a year.

cantfindname · 28/09/2018 19:05

Ironfloor269 freeze your cheese! Or at least freeze some of it.

That’s it! I knew I reminded myself of someone when I tried bare minerals.

Mine is face scrubs and masks and things. I never have time to put them on.

Pesto

I'll use a teaspoon of it on something for the children and then the bastard just sits in the back of the fridge

Make up. Love it, never use it.
Nail varnish, same thing.
Those drops you put in cream to go tanned.
Tinted moisturiser.

I have regular clear outs of the make up/nail varnish but can’t bear to throw out all of it Blush
