If I make a toasted sandwich from frozen bread, will it be edible by lunchtime?

Or will it go weird and gross?

Trying to throw lunch together to save £ and the only bread I have is in the freezer. If toasted and let to cool before making a peanut butter sandwich, would it be ok after a few hours?

Have never done the frozen sandwich thing before.

Just leave it on the side while you get ready Confused then make it just before you leave.

No it will go weird. Make it with frozen bread and then don't refrigerate, and you should get a normal sandwich

Bread sliced defrosts really quickly

Separate the two slices and leave on the side, it will defrost really quickly.

AbsentmindedWoman · 28/09/2018 07:26

But if not toasted, does it not feel kind of wet?!

Just make the sandwich as usual and let it defrost during the day. I make all my sandwiches on a Sunday and freeze them. I just take one out in a morning and put it in my bag. It's perfect by lunchtime. I've only ever had a problem with soggy bread when I put cucumber in them. Since I stopped doing that, they've been fine

TheCrowFromBelow · 28/09/2018 07:29

No. It will defrost and be fine.
If you are worried take the bread and PB separately and put together at work.
Cold toasted peanut butter sandwich sounds a bit odd.

Easynow · 28/09/2018 07:29

Leave it out for 30 mins.

AbsentmindedWoman · 28/09/2018 07:37

Ok cool, won't toast then.

Thanks y'all!
