We have just been invited to the christening of two little boys. We do not go to church and cannot remember what we gave as a gift at the last christening ten years ago.what should we give? I'm thinking money box, book, etc. If your lo received an amazing one, what was it?

I've used this for friends' babies and been very pleased with it.

Although looking again I think the design has changed - I'm sure it was a hard back when I ordered it...

H Samuel have some good silver money boxes. Middle DN got a pirate ship. New DN is getting a helicopter. They've got a digger too Grin

Wooden Noah’s ark, nativity set, lovely classic children’s book. DS got Noah’s ark bookends which we still use.

My son got 5 money boxes for his christening so not that! His best gifts were books to keep such as Encyclopoedias.

A good edition of a classic children's book would be a good choice.

Narnia is popular (because it's a Christian allegory) but anything that's stood the test of time would be fine.

Not a money box.

Last christening I went to I bought a nice set of beatrix potter books

Don't buy tat (silver or otherwise). Noone ever uses a silver moneybox. If they don't have pictures around the house a frame would also gather dust, likewise with hand/foot casts.

Go for something like a book or melamine crockery set or something else that can be used/played with.

RubiksQueen · 28/09/2018 22:17

Well, we all used our christening moneyboxes and so do my DNs Hmm so it's not quite right to say 'nobody' uses them.

One of mine is currently in my living room full of 5ps.
