Just to warn anyone especially those with elderly relatives that there's a scam going on where you get a call from an unknown number saying this is HMRC we are filing a lawsuit against you press 1. I have had about 4 calls today. Obviously I realised it was a scam but was lucky first time just went to ansaphone and googled it and they demand instant payment or court.
Fourth call I pressed 1 and an Asian sounding man this is HMRC, we are filing a law suit against you. I told him you and just making fradulent calls, stop calling my number, I am calling police. He said I will send police round to you. I said I am recording this call and am sending it on to police. He hung up 😉
They are apparently targetting old people, we have just taken over number from an elderly lady. Just to make people aware as I had no idea and apparently loads of people fall for it.
