Any must haves? I’ve already bought my weight in make up from Sephora and I’m now saving my cash for gin at the airport. Unless there’s something else I need?

Bumping because we are off there soon!

Snog · 27/09/2018 21:33

Chorizo?
Exchange rate is so crap it's not really worth spending your euros.

LightDrizzle · 27/09/2018 21:43

Really good jamon de serrano, pata negra is a good thing to look for, it’s not a brand but a type of pig fed partly on acorns.
If you like making soups, purees or gazpacho, you might share my love of a low-tech gadget called a pasapure, it’s great for straining things. Mine is a cheap plastic one that’s going strong 11 years on!

Buggerbrexit · 27/09/2018 22:13

Oooh I like the sound of the pasapure!

I go home tomorrow and have a load of euros left.

Olive oil, soap, sandals, rioja wine, can you take meat into the u.k.

You can buy prescription strength Retin A over the counter in most pharmacies for about 15 Euros.
You’d need to pay for a consultation with a private dermatologist here and also pay for the prescription so it saves at least £150.

GrimDamnFanjo · 28/09/2018 00:29

Yes as above Retirides Retin A from a chemist!

diamantegal · 28/09/2018 00:50

Turrón. Nobody actually likes it as it just tastes like sweet cardboard, but it's uniquely Spanish, so you should buy it anyway!

fussychica · 28/09/2018 08:04

Usually cheaper to buy gin in the supermarket. I take home loads of stuff but am usually in the car.

Buggerbrexit · 28/09/2018 09:02

Hand luggage only 😫

Thankfully i have neither acne or leukaemia.

Weirdly tempted by the €3 fluconozole though.

Tortas de acete - lovely thin discs a bit like puff pastry - impossible to eat just one. Chorizo - obviously .Lidl do both the above.
Turron - great to save up for Xmas which is when most of it is eaten in Spain.
From the pharmacy - a tube of Fenistil. A clear gel that is absolutely fantastic for any insect bites, stings or itchy things. Far better than anthisan and it's clear and odourless.

mateysmum · 28/09/2018 14:17

Typo - Tortas de aceite

PointlessUsername · 28/09/2018 14:19

nenuco cologne. Love the smell of it.

MadMaryBoddington · 28/09/2018 14:45

This is a handy thread - I’m on my way to Seville. I’m hoping to buy a nice leather belt - and maybe a handbag.

TakeAChanseyOnMe · 28/09/2018 14:50

Zara and other shops owned by the same company are cheaper in Spain - about 20% IIRC.

CherryBlossom23 · 28/09/2018 14:52

If you have a mercadona supermarket nearby they have good own brand beauty stuff and lovely face wipes.

peridito · 28/09/2018 14:54

I'm a tremendous fan of Maja soap .

Don't think I.m alone .
