What to use instead

I'm out of washing powder, it's been a few days and I need to at least do a load; what can I use instead, I would go and get some but we have a friend's dog that I'm sitting and being in London I don't want to leave her outside the shop while I go in

Leave the friends dog in the house while you nip to the shop?

Unless it is really filthy I would put it in with no detergent. Often you find there will be plenty left in from previous washings, it froths and you can see it in the door. If it is still grubby afterwards bung it in again.

It is recommended to do this with towels especially as they acquire a build up. I have washed things I bought on Ebay with no detergent sometimes as they have felt icky and smelled of perfume and the amount of froth has been incredible, even after 3 washes.

Could you ask a neighbour to give you some?
Online shop or Amazon delivery?

Lovethetimeyouhave · 27/09/2018 16:09

I can't leave her, she's never been left so I really wouldn't want to do that!

Ok it's not too dirty but it's piling up so I'll just do it without! Thank you

I would do it without any detergent too.

A small squirt of shampoo in the drum (not the drawer) should be OK.

any soda crystals ? grate some bar soap ?tiny bit of washing up liquid ?

or run it through with nothing sounds good to me ,

florenceheadache · 27/09/2018 17:09

Sorry you can leave the dog long enough to jog to the local shop for laundry soap. It’s a dog, they are independent creatures.

Livedandlearned2 · 27/09/2018 17:13

What if the dog wrecks the house and wees all over the place. Just wash without detergent.

Walk him first then put the dog in the bathroom, tuck out of reach all towels mats etc. Leave him with his blanket and toy.
