And do I roast it with the skin on and is the skin edible?

Or actually is it a pumpkin?

Quick! What squash is this?

I don't think the skin is edible. Google types of squash, somewhere there is a picture identification chart - used it yesterday to work out one from my veg patch!

Think it’s a kabocha pumpkin - you can eat the skin

I wouldn't eat the skin. Peel it, dice it, olive oil and garlic, roast for 40 mins.

I tried googling but I can't find a picture that is the same. Also, I have no idea of its a baby or fully grown.

You know what. I'm roasting it with skin. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

If it goes wrong then I will scoop out the flesh and do something with it.

Thanks everyone. It turned out to be a bit of a pointless thread. Blush

It wasn't great.
So the skin was too tough to be considered chewy, it was just too tough.
I thought it'd be like butternut roasted where it goes sweet and a bit caramelized sound the edges but this didn't and it was pretty bland.
I roasted it in very large chunks and oiled it, seasoned it and sprinkled it all with sage and some chilli flakes.
It was uninspiring.
I have half a squash/pumpkin whatever it is and I don't know what to do with it. I might just cube it, peel it and freeze for soups etc.
