If so, can you tell me the reading on this?

51613 (if the 3rd pointer is directly over the 6; if it's between 5 and 6 then use 5)

To read correctly:

Read the dials from left to right

If the pointer is between the two numbers, always take the lower number

If the pointer is directly over a number, write down that one

If the pointer falls between 9 and 0, write down 9 and reduce the reading you've already taken for the dial on it's left by one.
For example, if you originally recorded 5, reduce it to 4

Don't read the last dial on the right

Sorry, it’s a bad photo. It was taken back in June. This is today’s reading, don’t know if that helps clarify if the first digit on the first photo is a five or a six?

62076 (Are the pointers on the numbers on dials 1, 2 and 5)

dementedpixie · 26/09/2018 12:00

And no it doesn't really clarify whether the other 3rd dial was a 5 or 6

dementedpixie · 26/09/2018 12:01

Could be 62075 depending if pointer is on 6 or just before it on the last dial

You don't need the number from the red dial btw

Potentialpoochowner · 26/09/2018 12:06

Thanks all. Utilities are trying to argue that the first pic shows 61313, rather than 51613 (or 51513).

I think the angle of the picture doesn't help. I still think it looks more like it is just before the 6 rather than on it from the 1st dial

dementedpixie · 26/09/2018 12:10

Did you have any readings before that one?

titchy · 26/09/2018 12:14

Actually I think they might be right sorry. If the first digit was almost a 6 (ie still a 5), I'd expect the second digit to be much higher - say an 8 or 9. The fact that the second digit is a low number suggests that the first has just reached the 6.

Sidge · 26/09/2018 12:18

I'd say the first reading is 61613.

The second one is 62176.

dementedpixie · 26/09/2018 12:21

The 3rd digit is 0 from the second picture as you take the lower number

dementedpixie · 26/09/2018 12:30

It might be more likely to have been a 6 as otherwise you would have used 10562 kWh over 4 months

dementedpixie · 26/09/2018 12:34

So from looking again I'd say
June- 61613
Sept- 62075

Usage 462kwh

Potentialpoochowner · 26/09/2018 12:38

Yup, I don’t think I’d have used 10,000 units in a few months. There’s only been me in the house for much of it.

Thanks all :)
