The ultimate cf parking!

Mumsnet I present with the worlds biggest twat!

Our neighbours have been parking in permit parking for weeks (don't have a permit), have had a total of 7 tickets issued by the council on their cars and now it seems they have gone one further and parked their motorbike on the pavement.

Did they seriously think they could get away with it? It has been there for 24 hours now, the local council have been informed and it seems they will be involving the police.
I've attached a photo of the bike and will give live updates on the matter throughout the day but surely the parking twat of the year award goes to this one...

That is indeed very twatty parking!

cjt110 · 26/09/2018 11:19

Just knock the door and ask them to move it. They're blocking the pavement for pedestrians, pram and wheelchair users.

Alternatively, if it's not locked up, push it off the kick stand and roll it down the hill a bit and leave it there.

Breezebutter · 26/09/2018 11:19

I absolutely hate it when people park any vehicles on pavements when they can park on the road, they’re for pedestrians not cars/motorbikes! Makes it dangerous for people with wheelchairs or prams

SpikyCactus · 26/09/2018 11:19

How considerate of them. Now wheelchair and mobility scooter users will have to cross a narrow road with no dropped kerb because the pavement is blocked. I doubt I could get my pram past either.

rogl · 26/09/2018 11:21

@cjt110 ordinarily I would but having seen this bloke having a blazing argument in the street with the parking warden and inviting his three mates to view said argument I'd rather not put my self in that position.

As an aside, why is it still legal to park on the pavement in this day and age?! I’d have thought disabled rights campaigners would have been all over this by now.

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 26/09/2018 11:22

Mmm, yes, one might even accidentally badly scratch both their car and bike trying mightn’t one? Ahem Wink

rogl · 26/09/2018 11:23

Anyone got a metal spiky bag I could borrow?

Can you sneakily hang a sign on it?
Bike free to good home please knock.

Yes weird, it’s only illegal in London apparently. But on the plus side, there are now vast swathes of London that were definitely in Kent and Essex when I was a lass (Romford, London anyone?) so soon London will encompass most of the UK Smile

plominoagain · 26/09/2018 11:33

Out of interest , what's the parking bag ? Because unless the rules have been changed recently, and I'm fairly sure they haven't , parking restrictions go from building line to building line , which might therefore encompass that bit of pavement unless it's privately owned

plominoagain · 26/09/2018 11:33

Parking bay even ! Bloody iPhone

rogl · 26/09/2018 11:51

I have attached a diagram of the street. The permit parking can be used for anyone who has a permit and can fit three cars, the 1 hour bags extend the majority of the street
