Looking for ideas for 60th birthday present for my widowed mother. Fussiest person ever, no to trips away, no to meals out, no to pictures, no to perfume or spas. Looking to spend about 400 pounds

A year of new experiences. So theatre tickets, a dancing class/painting class, a pass to go for a dinner on a boat, a pass for an art gallery, that type of thing. Look at smart box type options. Life drawing? Kayaking? Swimming pool pass? A course to learn a language/make jams/floristry?

I bought my mum 10 tap dancing lessons once. She would have never tried on her own, didn't continue but said it was a good giggle.

This year I bought my 66 year old dad fire chains...

I try to offer the unexpected!!!

I think I bought my mum a pretty silver necklace or some earrings. She was dreading turning 60!
