Excessive ear wax production in kids

Does anyone have any experience of this? Will it just be a cycle of olive oil ear drops and micro-suctioning for a while?

We asked our GP about this and were advised to use the olive oil ear drops (when he’s asleep or he moves too much) and just keep washing the wax away in the bath.
