Look Into the robert hunter series by christ Carter. I can't remember the name of the first book but oh my they are the best books I've ever read and I only read that genre. Totally gripping, have your mind in riddles and dare I say it, make me check the door is locked a few times too!

I love Karin Slaughter. Any one except Pretty Girls

ADastardlyThing · 25/09/2018 19:59

Me too! Have you tried any of the Mo Hayder books?

I've lost my love for reading and need a stonking good read to get my mojo back.

Splinter by seb fitzek is good.

Did anyone ever read a book about a guy, millionaire type who had issues due to a woman who tortured him years before? Think a reporter got involved with him and they both end up back at this woman's house and end up in an endurance type showdown in the middle of nowhere? It was a great read but for the life of me I can't remember the author. Think it was set in England if that helps?

Anything by Sophie Hannah is a great read, her first novel in my favourite series of hers is Little Face

UnknownStuntman · 25/09/2018 20:29

It's a novella rather than a full length novel, but well worth 99p.
After reading it I thought the author must be a stalker.

Firsttimer - I just bought the first book in the series you recommended. It’s awful already - badly written with one dimensional characters.

You owe me £4.99 😡😜

Jellycatspyjamas · 25/09/2018 21:18

I’ve been reading Stewart McBride Granite City and the rest of the Logan McCrae series which is set in Aberdeen - I’m really enjoying it.

I agree about Chris Carter, they’re gory enough in a Criminal Minds kind of way but I got a bit bored with the “drinks good whiskey” blurb every fucking time.
