How much were your pregnancy medical bills.

Calling all US mums, I am trying to get an idea on how good our medical insurance is.

I am due in April. Our insurance has a $1500 annual deductible (excess). I have just paid $480 for blood tests and the first scan is likely to be $360. So I am well on the way to using this years excess.

How much did your delivery cost? I am assuming it’s going to be way over our excess so I am expecting a $1500 bill.

I would plan on maxing out your deductible. Mine was about 10k for the delivery and 50k for a 4 day stay in NICU for DS as he had some issues with oxygen and sugar levels. Our out of pocket max was 1k per person so we only paid 2k total. I moaned at the time but have much worse coverage now 😂

I meant to say 'maxing out your out of pocket', not deductible.
