10 week old baby being sick during and after feed

My little girl has started to be sick 2 or 3 times after every bottle she has (SMA gold formula) it’s not projectile and doesn’t seem to cause any pain but I’m not sure why this has started as she has been fine for the first 6-7 weeks. Could it be the formula or is this just normal? First time mum so still learning ConfusedSmile

Have a look into cows milk protein allergy. My son brought milk up after each feed. Not really fussy or anything. Diagnosed aged 11m with CMPA. Apparently reflux and colic are very common with CMPA kids although we seemed to miss that

Definitely worth trying a different formula. My DD was always sick on Cow and gate, fine on Aptimil. When we switched her to follow on Aptimil she was sick again.

If it carries on its worth seeing your GP in case it’s CMPA or reflux.

Could be reflux.

DS had and my Dr was useless, if you find the same, speak to your health visitor for advice. Mine was a god send!

Okay thanks everyone!! I’m going to get her weighed tomorrow at the clinic and speak to the health visitor then to see what she suggests Smile

If it isn't causing her pain and her weight gain is normal, it isn't really anything to worry about. Could be she's just overfeeding slightly now she is bigger and bringing up the excess. CMPI usually causes distress to the baby and has other symptoms like horrible poos and skin issues.

If it's literally just the spitting up, she's probably just... a baby. Most babies are what's known as "happy spitters" and often posset milk after feeds without any distress.

CountessVonBoobs Yes, my son had "eczema" as the GP told us. And continued to tell us for 11m.

I would also say if no other symptoms and her weight gain is ok she's probably just a happy chucker

Lynsox · 25/09/2018 14:00

Yeah her weight gain is fine she’s a wee chunk lol hopefully is just her having too much each time as she guzzles 6oz each feed, the hv told me to keep upping the oz but I feel too much liquid for her already so just keeping it as is just now!

Its a long time since mine were babies but could she be gulping her milk down too quickly and therefore need a 'slower' teat?

Lynsox · 25/09/2018 16:37

I’m not sure blobby10 she’s on a slow flow teat just now. Maybe she’s sucking too hard to get it out therefore causing wind and then being sicky!

I had the same thing with DD- eventually I reduced her feed by an ounce and added an extra bottle in the 24 period so she was eating less per feed but feeding more often. Stopped overnight.

It took me an embarrassingly long time to work out what the problem was, despite asking both my HV and doctor.
