Help me improve my reading

I want to get back into reading more but I dislike badly written books, yet have little concentration due to suffering bad anxiety and depression recently. Can anyone suggest some classics or other well written books that are well written but quite light and entertaining, maybe funny rather than depressing. I've enjoyed Jane Eyre, Behind the Scenes at the Museum, Life after Life, Catcher in the Rye, Cider with Rosie, I read a lot of Bill Bryson, love everyday stuff, about how people lived I mean, so not so much thrillers or historical or crime. Any suggestions?

Classics - try Jane Austen. Contemporary - Lianne Moriaty, Big Little Lies is great. I signed up to Audible so I can listen to books whilst walking/driving etc.

Just realised I worded the title badly ... I'm perfectly capable of reading, I need to improve what I read!

If you can afford it, i’ve had a reading spa from mr b’s bookshop in bath (you can do them remotely too). They listen to your taste and recommend books.. like previous posters have done but as professionals.i know 5 people who’ve done this now and they have never got a recommendation wrong.
