How do you pronounce 'dionysus'?

As in the Greek god? It's in my 5 year old's reading book, and I don't know...and I have googled and found three different answers.

Die on ice us

Die on eye sus. Stress on the die

I have always said di-on-eye-sis. I’m questioning it now.

Sus not sis. Ah good. It’s the same as others.

I would say dye-on-ees-us but I’m probably wrong!

Id say die-on-eye-cis no idea why though.

In England, I would say Dye On Eye Sus. Although I did stay at a hotel under that name in Rhodes, and they pronounced it Dee On Eee Sus.

Die-on-eye-sus or Die-on-knee-sus. Have had classics teachers who pronounced it both ways.

As others, die on EYE sus.

I say dee-ON- ee-s's. But I have noticed that on the radio etc they say Dye-o-nye-sus. I probably got my pronunciation from my father, but he did do higher school cert Greek, so I'm guessing pronunciation has changed over the last 80 years.
