What would you assume about the person who wrote this? Sex? Age? Just curious. I have a reason for asking.

Whose handwriting is this?

11 year old boy.

It's my ds, 9. We have always thought he was a very neat writer. He's also very good at art. I just wondered how unusual it was. He had an accident back in May where they discovered a cyst on his brain that he was probably born with. The cyst is large and on the left hand side of his brain. Artistic talent is linked to the right side and being able to turn off the left part. That's basically my reason for asking. I'm really missing the return key. Aggghhh.

I think his handwriting is lovely and he seems to take great care with it...

MingaTurtle · 24/09/2018 19:58

I think quite a bit of the ‘left brain/right brain’ stuff has been discredited.

NeverTalksToStrangers · 24/09/2018 19:59

Dials, he does, thanks.Flowers

Well my DS13 is a fantastic drawer but his handwriting is appalling Grin
That handwriting is certainly very neat.

DolorestheNewt · 24/09/2018 20:00

If it's my DS - any day now.

Almondio · 24/09/2018 20:00

It's beautiful handwriting, especially for a boy. I say this as mum of two DSs, one leftie whose writing is pretty good and one right-hander (yr 8) who, quite frankly, would fare better if he strapped his pen to a drunk spider and asked it to transcribe.

DolorestheNewt · 24/09/2018 20:00

Dammit, that would have been more relevant if I'd pointed out that my DS is 15.

CloudCaptain · 24/09/2018 20:02

It's lovely handwriting.

dontcallmelen · 24/09/2018 20:02

Beautiful handwriting, hope he is on the mend.

NeverTalksToStrangers · 24/09/2018 20:03

Has it Minga? In relation to art or other things? I would have to disagree on a personal level because the areas he struggles with a bit are all left brain orientated. I think he'll probably end up having it removed at some stage (due to the size and location, not that he's having headaches or anything and I'm no neurosurgeon, lol), and i feel guilt that maybe he'll lose his talent a bit.

Either boy with good handwriting age 12 or girl age 8.

I think male because of the shape of the letters but girl because it's quite neat... difficult one

Perfectly1mperfect · 24/09/2018 20:07

I think it's very neat for a 9 year old boy. I hate to generalise but girls handwriting seems to be a lot neater than boys when I see childrens work at school. I hope your son is ok.

LemonysSnicket · 24/09/2018 20:07

Sorry, I see you answered. He has better writing than my 23 yo boyfriend if that helps Grin

NeverTalksToStrangers · 24/09/2018 20:09

He's fine, got over the accident within a few hours but they had to scan him because he threw up repeatedly. Blessing in disguise I suppose. Alevel i was also artistic but my handwriting is akin to the drunk spider above. I also couldn't colour in or paint, just sketch and design stuff. His colouring in is crazy neat. Always was. He made a teachers jaw drop at primary school open day

I was going to say 8yo boy.

NeverTalksToStrangers · 24/09/2018 20:11

perfectly that's what I always thought too (myself being the exception). His little brother inherited the drunk spider thing too.

flumpybear · 24/09/2018 20:12

I think the top half looks quite different to the bottom half - like two different people wrote it - does anyone else?
