I've hurt my finger...

I fell into a door and got a splinter that has gone down about 2/3 of my fingernail. It hurts like a bastard, I've trimmed my nail as short as I can and I have tried to remove it but can't. Would minor injuries laugh at me for going there?

I would go. Deep splinters need to be removed I think.

I don't want to waste their time but I've just noticed it's starting to ooze a little so I'll pop in tomorrow morning.

I've had exactly the same thing, it will throb to the point you will gladly amputate your finger with kitchen scissors! I gad to go to a&e (we have no minir injury unit) they numbed the finger, cut the nail down slightly around the splinter and pulled it out.

Soak it in hot water and Epsom salts

Could easily get infected, so best sort it out a.s.a.p.

I'm currently waiting to be seen, I managed to get an appointment with my GP who will hopefully sort it out.

I've got a twofer appointment. Woopie Hmm

If it's oozing then it's causing infection so your right to have got an appointment.

I did this to my thumb with a sliver of gloss paint at work once. It's was peeling around the handle of a door and somehow when I went to open it the paint ended up doing what happened to you.

I eventually got it out using a poultice my dad made for but he's sadly died since so would never be able to repeat it! It left a tunnel under the nail for about two years while it grew out though [vom]

So really Iv not been much help try a mystery poultice of unknown ingredients or go to the doctor Blush

I've seen my GP and I need to go to a&e. I sorted put some prescriptions so it wasn't a complete waste of an appointment.

So I'm going to go home, charge my phone and grab a jumper because it's getting a little chilly.

How much fun Hmm
