Kindle fire for kids - storage issues!

Help! Just got DD a new Kindle Fire for kids. However it won’t let her play anything because the internal storage is full, seemingly with content from my account. However, when I follow the instructions from Amazon I get a message about using Alexa and end up back where we started! This is not a tablet for sharing, it is just for her so I don’t need any content of mine on there at all!

I bought my dd a fire tablet last year and I think the kids app takes up a good chunk of storage. it doesn't help that it's pre-installed with a load of Amazon apps that we don't and never will use. I don't use Amazon so it's not full of my stuff either. it's highly annoying!

I bought a memory card for ours and moved as much as I could onto the card. As you say, a lot of the content was built in which is annoying.

Bah. Looks like more money to spend 😡

My ds’ kindle fire has a memory card with 64gb external storage, but by default some of the data still ends up on the internal memory. We have to keep deleting apps and games, despite seemingly having plenty of space on the memory card. Very annoying!

I had a similar issue; all the kid's stuff was using up storage on each other's Fire as I was controlling them from one account. They don't have enough storage for more than a few games. I wont be getting another.

My non-kids fire has the same issue. Even downloading iPlayer episodes for the kids can't be done to a memory card so it's really limiting.

On ours, its a 'miscellaneous - others' file which is eating about 2.5 to 3gb of the storage. We have done factory reset, it comes back. We have a memory card in but it is still very limited with what you can download. Ive searched for an answer, found lots of posts asking but no easy fix.
