All weekend and all day today, repeatedly sounding off for 20 minutes at a time. It is always going off. Thing is they live in London and only use this house once in a while. No contact number and everyone in the village is fed up now. What can I do apart from send someone up a set of ladders to smash the box off the side of the house. Angry

Have you called the police non emergency number? Maybe they can find some contact information somehow, let them know the villagers are getting the pitchforks ready they are so fed up of it.

Local council Environmental Health Department.can deal with noise issues. Ring as early as possible tomorrow. The residents will be paying council tax and they may have a contact number on the records. If not in a real emergency they can get a warrant to sort out problem and charge owners. If it's intermittent keep a record overnight as far as possible of how many times it has gone off and for how long.It may help if you can get other neighbors to call or e mail council as well to show it's bothering lots of people. To be honest I'm surprised nobody has already contacted them.(Sorry about paragraphs)

Never thought about tracing them through council and council tax records. Good idea

Environmental Health should do tracing . Have they owned property for long as estate agents may have contact details. Even if owners can't be contacted then they should be able to sort it.
