Heeelp need cotton school trousers in age 7-ish

DS is looking ridiculous in his age 5-6 (I think) pure cotton trousers from M&S but they are sold out of the cotton ones entirely (their Skin Kind range) and John Lewis are sold out of his size.
Where else can I find them? Everywhere else doesn't do pure cotton and he won't wear the bombproof fabrics as he finds them itchy.
He's 6 with short legs but a long body and his pants are making an appearance even more than usual! I normally have to take them up at the bottom so even if they only have "long leg" that's OK.

Oh dear I've just found these:

£20! And OOS anyway!

Not sure if there is a boys version of these. But they are super soft and feel like tracksuit material, but don't look like it. My dd is very tall and skinny and these are great.

I think he could get away with those but we need black which is OOS.

Sorry I should have said black!

Check in store? They are awesome!

drspouse · 24/09/2018 13:39

Our local shop is teeny and I did check there when it was peak school uniform buying season - no black despite there being more than one local school that wears black.

We then went to the Big Shop and they had no all-cotton so I had to make him try on the non-cotton ones for size. Boy that was fun. But then we stupidly decided that the current ones would do for another term.

I might have some in grey at the back of a cupboard if they would do? I can go digging later if you like?

drspouse · 24/09/2018 14:29

Sorry no they have to be black!
If they were 100% cotton I might give dyeing a go but poly cotton doesn't dye well.

Fair enough, I hope you get some success soon.

ALovelyWoman · 24/09/2018 14:35

I used to get my DS the gap cotton chinos - here?

drspouse · 24/09/2018 14:44

Aha! Good call Lovely.
Not quite so extortionate either. And one choice where needing black is an advantage.

no worries! There should be discount as well I think.

drspouse · 24/09/2018 15:00

I know, looks much more affordable. Going to get DH to try in the Mega shop near his work to see if the discount is in store as well and if not I'll order online.
