Are these Braxton Hicks?

I’ve been getting tightenings since about 9.30. Sometimes painful but they are manageable. I think they may be too irregular to be the start of labour so perhaps Braxton hicks?

Are these Braxton Hicks?

Labour often starts like that, irregular , short and uncomfortable rather than painful.
If you get in the bath and they stop, could just be BH, but could be latent phase.
Have a bath, a hot drink and bed,
Get as much rest as you can just in case,
Good luck

How many weeks are you?

spugzbunny · 23/09/2018 23:52

That was what my early labour looked like. It lasted 5 days to be fair but that's the extreme case!

Hi I’m 38 weeks today. Perhaps it is the start of something happening. Although I don’t think I’ll get my hopes up too much just yet.

With my second pregnancy I had prolonged and painful BH and I was sure it was early labour every bloody night for about 3 weeks. Then with my 3rd I thought I had BH and it turned out that I was 9cm dilated!

So it could be either, really. How many weeks are you? Can you call your midwife for reassurance?

DontDribbleOnTheCarpet · 23/09/2018 23:57

Sorry, just seen your update. I'd say a call to your midwife is in order if it doesn't settle down soon.

Thank you. I’ll monitor it for another half hour or so I think and then give them a ring if it’s not changed.
