Visit my cats dilemma

Cats have been in cattery since 5th August. They were only supposed to be there 2 weeks, but the builder fucked up the house whilst we were away to the extent its unliveable ever since ( whole other thread ).
Anyway, cats are still in cattery which is very good and are well looked after - I have three, two sharing one on his own. The one on his own is Siamese and very much my cat and he's the one I'm worried about although I'm told he's fine but noisy and messes up his pen each day.
We won't be back in our house for another four weeks and I'm not sure whether to visit cats or not, so far I haven't for fear of upsetting them.
Any similar experience and WWYD?

In my opinion you visiting the cats might make you feel better but it wont make them feel better. I would leave them be until they can come home.

This is what I've been thinking Bunny

I agree with Bunny. Very confusing if you turn up and leave them there.

Meezers are very different though aren’t they?they pine and get upset. I think I would visit if it were my meeze just because of how sensitive they are

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 23/09/2018 22:28

I'd have to visit i think to make sure they are okay, it's one thing to be told they are but another to see with your own eyes.

I've used the same cattery for the last few years, know the owners well and know my siamese really likes the husband.
They also come back heavier, so well fed

I had this situation once while staying with my parents between rental houses. Not a Siamese but a Russian Blue so similarly demanding Grin

In the end I decided not to visit and cat was fine. They get used to their new routine and won’t understand why you’re ‘leaving’ them for a second time.

Could you get a friend who likes cats but isn't special to your cats to pop in and check on their welfare? You'd get peace of mind that they're well looked after etc without upsetting them.

I went to see them anyway. Lots of treats and cuddles. They are all very well. I hung about a bit in the distance after leaving them and they all settled down.

The Siamese and the Oriental were all over me, the little black & white Street cat I found as a tiny kitten starving and alone in Bulgaria was only interested in the food!

Glad I went and will visit every few days now until we can move back into our home
