We had fillet steak and sides last night so having a healthier Sunday.
We had porridge with berries for breakfast
Homemade cream of roast vegetable soup with hot rolls (the kind you finish baking at home )
Dinner later will be BBC Good Food 'Healthy Egg & Chips' - cubed potatoes par-boiled, then tossed in a small amount of sunflower oil and roasted till starting to crisp, add sliced red onion, sliced mushrooms and chopped lean bacon and a sprinkle of oregano, let that cook till golden, make wells and crack eggs into the tray and bake till cooked as you like. Serve with baked beans on the side - it is plate lickingly good! And very simple

What are you all having today?

Turkey mince chilli with no beans. Served with rice, tortillas, sour cream, avo, salad, refrained beans for those that like them. It was the first time I’d done it, but mine loved it, so will do again.

onestitchaway · 23/09/2018 19:37

We had home made burgers with cheese and red onion with some salad. Oh, and a glass of Chablis.

Oldraver · 23/09/2018 19:41

Brisket with roast potatoes, carrots, string beans, Yorkshire puddings gravy

Afternoon we had coffee and a share bag of revels

Dinner was roasties with stuffed pork fillet, carrot and turnip, peas and gravy and a random firey chicken wing...!!

And wine....

ninnypoo · 23/09/2018 19:46

Out for a late lunch where we had garlic mushrooms, empanadas, steak and chips (all v delicious). Still on train Home scoffing millionaire bites from M&S with a cup of tea so can't imagine we'll be eating much more this evening (although really fancy pita and hummus)

TheFallenMadonna · 23/09/2018 19:52

Pancakes and maple syrup (DD's speciality) for late breakfast.

DH and DS had butternut squash soup and bread for lunch (DD and I were still full).

DS (17) made himself a cheese and ham toastie mid afternoon Hmm

Roast gammon with marmalade and mustard glaze, braided red cabbage and mash, apple and blackberry crumble and custard for dinner.

TheFallenMadonna · 23/09/2018 19:53

Braised red cabbage. Braiding it sounds like a faff.

bobstersmum · 23/09/2018 19:59

Bacon, sausage, egg, beans, hash browns and toast for late breakfast, then roast beef and mash, roast potatoes, carrots peas and green beans with gravy, then hot chocolate cake with ice cream for dessert. We are all stuffed. We eat the most on a Sunday!

pilates · 23/09/2018 20:12

Roast lamb, roast potatoes, yorkshire pudding, asparagus, carrots and peas

PickAChew · 23/09/2018 20:17

Picked up an M&S roast for £8 for dh, Ds2 and me. Had a lamb leg roast with carrot and swede crush and tenders them broccoli. Made a mountain of garlic and rosemary roasties and some mint sauce gravy to have with it.

Utterly delicious.

Katedotness1963 · 23/09/2018 20:51

No breakfast because I slept in.

It 2pm and I haven’t had lunch.

It’s chili and rice for dinner and I don’t fancy that.

Looks like a cheese on toast day...

MiddlingMum · 23/09/2018 21:07

Leftovers from yesterday's family gathering. And toast for anyone who still feels hungry.

Looks like a cheese on toast day... DH would eat cheese on toast everyday if he could.

tobee · 24/09/2018 00:13

Had service station McDonald's filet of fish and chips as dropping ds back to uni. Oh the class! Back home now and having late night glass of white wine and grab bag of cheese and onion crisps but I've been very abstemious last week. Dh having a Ginsters.

Bluesheep8 · 24/09/2018 06:23

We had homemade spicy roasted tomato and balsamic soup with fresh basil and chip butties, it was lovely. I also made a Spanish chicken stew with butter beans and olives for tonight's tea.

Justtheoneplease · 24/09/2018 09:34

Well we had chicken stuffed with sun dried tomatoes and brie, wrapped in bacon with garlic and rosemary cubed potatoes, broccoli and cauliflower cheese. Was very tasty but have loads leftover as I always seem to cook for at least 6 and there is only 4 of us! So any ideas what to make for tonight using the leftover? Was thinking maybe adding pasta (i have mostly chicken and cauliflower left) and doing a sort of pasta bake. Would that work???

PhilomenaButterfly · 24/09/2018 09:39

Yesterday I didn't have breakfast, had chicken in red wine and thyme sauce with potatoes in creamy garlic sauce for lunch, chicken and king prawn yaki udon for supper.

PhilomenaButterfly · 24/09/2018 09:42

Today I'm in the Sainsbury's café, I'm having smashed avocado on sourdough toast, a banana and a large caramel latte for breakfast, might have creamy peppercorn chicken with sautéed potatoes if I feel like lunch, something Italian for supper with garlic bread.

Oldraver · 24/09/2018 09:52

Poached egg toast

Sausage beans chips and egg for the others for dinner

Will have to clear tons of plates today which surprisingly doesn't make me hungry

Oh will have some kind of soup for lunch

Weenurse · 24/09/2018 11:23

Crumpets with jam for breakfast. Left over honey lemon chicken with mash potatoes and veg for lunch. Dinner BLT on a brioche bun but instead of lettuce had spinach.
I want to try the original bbc egg and chips, that sounds really good.

Juanbablo · 24/09/2018 11:24

Yesterday we had steak pie (veggie sausages for me), mash and peas followed by treacle tart and custard. It was so good and comforting seeing as it rained all day long.

Tonight dh is away with work and I will be giving the DC's fish fingers.

Camomila · 24/09/2018 12:02

Yesterday dinner was sausages, new potatoes, green beans and Yorkshire puddings.

Meaning today DS gets his favourite lunch of chopped up left over new potatoes topped with baked beans and cheese.

Will probably make chilli con carne for dinner as I have lots of peppers in the fridge.

IncyWincyGrownUp · 24/09/2018 12:17

It was supposed to be cottage pie but I can be bothered so it will probably be a cheat curry.
