We had fillet steak and sides last night so having a healthier Sunday.
We had porridge with berries for breakfast
Homemade cream of roast vegetable soup with hot rolls (the kind you finish baking at home )
Dinner later will be BBC Good Food 'Healthy Egg & Chips' - cubed potatoes par-boiled, then tossed in a small amount of sunflower oil and roasted till starting to crisp, add sliced red onion, sliced mushrooms and chopped lean bacon and a sprinkle of oregano, let that cook till golden, make wells and crack eggs into the tray and bake till cooked as you like. Serve with baked beans on the side - it is plate lickingly good! And very simple

What are you all having today?

Brunch was a very late bowl of cornflakes and a smoothie after a lazy lie in and then dropping ds(14) and friends off to watch SPL football match.

Couldn't be bothered making lunch so had a cold tattie scone with butter Blush

Dinner will be beef stroganoff served on pasta. Followed by Belgian chocolate Haagen Dazs ice cream.

Striploin steak with stuffed mushrooms and lots of green veg for dinner. Am doing sugar free September and so far so good. Will stick on a few spuds for the carbivores.

We had a guest so had crumpets for breakfast so trying to be a bit healthier for dinner - grilled chicken, lettuce, spring onions, reduced fat creme fraiche and a drizzle of sweet chilli sauce in wholemeal wraps with a side salad. Skipped lunch as we didn't have breakfast until our guest got up around 11am (shift worker).

Eminybob · 23/09/2018 17:33

A roast chicken is in the oven but neither dh or I are particularly hungry as we had a big lunch. I might have some cold later with a salad. Ds is starving as usual also he’ll have his with chips and veg when it’s ready.

aybeeseedee · 23/09/2018 17:39

We've just had roast beef, Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes, carrots and parsnip, cauliflower cheese and mashed celeriac with red wine and mustard gravy. Followed by home grown apple crumble and custard and a lovely warming glass of red wine Smile

LargeGlassOfPepsi · 23/09/2018 17:40

how do you make sweet potato rice?

Spiralise it, I put it in my food processor for a whizz up or you can chop it to the size you want then pop it in a frying pan with a little oil of your choice until it's crispy. It's lovely. I also add herbs and spices to it if I'm having it with chicken.
