I think it's actually time to but the electric blanket back on the bed!

I agree. Last year I got mine set up with a socket that I can control with an app on my phone. So I can be warm in front of the fire downstairs and switch on my blanket so my bed is toasty when I come up. Amazing!

SneakyGremlins · 23/09/2018 13:03

Whaaaat? Shock

Hive smart plugs 🙂

Bluetrews25 · 23/09/2018 17:41

I've used hot water bottles since mid August (no electric blanket and central heating has broken). My feet were ICY for hours. That plumber will be summoned ASAP!
Go for it, OP, nowt worse than being cold.

SneakyGremlins · 23/09/2018 17:43

It's now on the bed Grin tempted to get in now

It's a lovely bit of snug and warmth at the end of a cold day. A nice duvet and it's your cocoon of happiness.

princesstiasmum · 23/09/2018 18:02

Put mine on last week, and took it off again, back on now just in case it gets colder

SneakyGremlins · 23/09/2018 18:05

See I took mine off recently then we had the mini heatwave Confused but it's back on now. I live in a top floor flat with stone walls heat escapes through!

I've had mine on all week!

Sparklingbrook · 23/09/2018 18:36

I had an electric blanket as a child, as did my parents. Used to put it on about half an hour before bed.

My parents still have an electric blanket but I love getting into a cold bed now and would hate it. I also have to have the bedroom window open all year round. That's a bit weird isn't it?

NewChapter11 · 23/09/2018 18:48

Really fancy getting one but I made the mistake years ago, reading an article linking electric magnetic 'thingys' to potential illnesses.

Dowser · 23/09/2018 19:46

It’s never off our bed

theboud · 23/09/2018 19:51

I don’t own one but am considering it. What would you all recommend? DH is not a fan so would need to only cover my side of the bed. Is that even possible?

Clawdy · 23/09/2018 19:53

Get a double blanket with dual controls, so you can put your side on, and he doesn't need to use his side, unless it's bitterly cold!

SneakyGremlins · 23/09/2018 19:54

You can get single sized ones!

theboud · 23/09/2018 19:55

This is all sounding excellent. I may need to invest after payday.

GrumpyOldMare · 23/09/2018 19:55

My electric blanket stays on my bed all year! Can't be doing with taking it off and putting it back on again. Turned it on 3 times since the begining of September so far,it'll be on again tonight!

Bokky · 23/09/2018 19:57

Mine went on on Friday. We've not long moved so I didn't know where it was. DH found it and put it on for me. He doesn't like being that warm in bed so I just have a single on my side of the bed. Occasionally he'll sneak his feet over for a warm!

moralminority · 23/09/2018 19:58

I never take mine off. And it's on, on all but the hottest of nights. Am always cold.

PlatypusPie · 23/09/2018 19:59

I have a DH who gives out heat at night like a man sized hot water bottle so it was a nasty shock when I got out of bed this am time to feel actual chills. It’s been so nice for so long (London) that I had sort of forgotten what feeling cold was like ! We caught each other looking in a contemplative manner at the central heating control this afternoon - holding out until at least October , I think .

QuestionableMouse · 23/09/2018 20:14

I woke up with my cat in bed with me this morning. It was bitter last night.

She's getting her snugglesafe back tonight and I'm sticking the big duvet back on the bed.
