Hi everyone, my husband, 11 month old baby and I are looking to make the big move from London to countryside. We love a house and the look of Burford. Just wondering if there is a good family community? It is clearly popular with tourist which is fine just want to make sure there is a good mix of locals as well. Any insight would be greatly appreciate.

It’s a lovely place and does have a nice feel, I live quite close (close enough for it to be my default garden centre!) so know it reasonably well. But it is absolutely heaving with tourists in the summer, to the point that I wouldn’t bother to go there from May to September. It’s one of the most popular stops in the area as the church is famous, parking is free and the high street is lovely (though not full of useful shops). If you want that sort of area, there are lots of other similar size places without the tourist issue. Off the top of my head, Bampton, Woodstock (tourists tend to head straight to Blenheim) are similar size small country towns but there are hoards of small villages.
