What are you up to tonight?

DH and I are having some problems and he’s gone to his parents.

The DCs and I have just had a takeaway on the sofa while watching Netflix (first time we’ve ever done this ) and I’ll be sorting them out for bed in a bit.

Then what? The house is a mess, but I’m not sure whether cleaning is a good use of my time. Ironing? Meditation? What do people do on Saturday nights when they’re tired, worn out and world-weary, and have a big week (alone) to prepare for?

Also in bed with a glass of wine now all the boyfriends/girlfriends have been ejected! Dh gaming on the laptop, me mnetting on my phone. We know how to rock a Saturday night here!!

Home from visiting in laws, shopping put away .... now watching x factor with a glass of wine. Happy days.

Hope those of you in/at hospital are out of there asap

I spent the best part of two hours ironing. I’ve never done anything like that before in my life! Still got more to do but it’s time to relax now. I’ll have plenty to wear this week so I’m happy.

Now a I think. I’ve been revisiting It’ll be Alright on the Night in honour of Denis Norden and it’s just the kind of silliness I need right now!

I got home from a 13hr work shift (that finished late as usual) at about 9.40. Since then I have emptied the tumble dryer, put wet washing in, hung other wet washing on clothes horse, put more washing in machine, emptied dishwasher, cleaned up cat shit, browsed Facebook. Now am MNing , sitting in front of a toy and a roll of wrapping paper, should be wrapping the toy for DD to take to a party tomorrow. Haven't had dinner, as I had lunch at 5pm. Plan to get ready for bed after I have wrapped this.

If you're looking for a good film, we just watched a beautiful one. Our Souls at Night. 2017 Jane Fonda and Robert Redford. Great film.

Glad you're watching Netflix. I had it for ages without watching anything - until I found 'The Crown'. I watched both series avidly and then both again with husband.

However, tonight had sausages and mash, nearly had a nasty accident in kitchen but didn't - would have been painful had it happened but all is well.

Watched Strictly! Very good to have that back on TV again.

Husband sleeping on sofa. Cat brought in a huge rat! Thank goodness it was dead. It's now sealed up and in the dustbin. Imagine if it was still alive, cat let it go and was trying to find it, chasing all over the house and hiding! I might never have found it - it could have had babies behind my telly.

So tonight has been good so far because two disasters were averted and I will sleep well.
