First up I know some people will not get this and thats ok. I am just looking for a bit of amusing conversation (day 10 of a temperature and I am very fed up) I know from friends they have similar so wondering what others thinks.

I have just thrown out a small cut from a plant (herb) dh found in the garden that had been left to drown in a glass. I remember telling him at the time to not do this as I know we will never do anything with it. And alas 2 weeks later its brown dead and I have a disgusting glass to clean out... (we have a dishwasher or I would make him Grin)

Doing this it occurred to me the issue is gardening is dh's " I ought to like this hobby" He feels somewhere inside that this is a hobby he is meant to like and enjoy. (I have always hated it grew up with a gigantic garden and mum and stepdad would make me " help" made me grow up loathing gardening) Now I appreciate a nice garden but I also know just how much work it is. So I don't bother.

DH however has this ideal in his head of a beautiful garden with lovely areas to sit in and relaxing in the sun with a glass of wine and a book ...

In reality its backbreaking neighbours kid screaming on his trampoline next door and not very peaceful..

My hobby I feel I ought to like is cake decorating. I love the idea of it. I have even attended a couple of courses and I love this idea.. In practice however I buy the stuff and then it gets to the decorating and I just can not be bothered. It takes so LONG and it doesn't look anywhere near as pretty as the picture and I could have eaten the cake ages ago..

Anyone else?
