Onesmallstepforaman · 22/09/2018 14:18

Oh shit, they were a great fun band. Not one of the classics, but good entertainment.

SoupDragon · 22/09/2018 14:20

Aw....

Rabbit in peace, Chas.

rainbowruthie · 22/09/2018 14:22

Oh no, I didn't know, that's sad
RIP Chas Flowers

Asterado · 22/09/2018 14:28

I’m devistated to be honest. Wasn’t that long ago I heard him chatting on the radio about their new album.

rightreckoner · 22/09/2018 15:08

Fun but also underrated because of the comedy songs.

Another fave :

Sad news. Sad

I saw them live 3 times, and met them once. They were lovely. RIP Chas.

WhiteHartLane · 22/09/2018 15:21

So sad to hear this. Not sure how to link but I like Diddle Um and Ossies Dream. Hope the Spurs and Brighton fans will sing their hearts out in his honour at the match later.

MrsTommyBanks · 22/09/2018 15:31

That's really sad to hear. I grew up listening to them and my adult son is a huge fan. He's seen them play loads of times. RIP Chas.

Want2beme · 22/09/2018 15:32

How sad. 2 very talented gentlemen. RIP ChasFlowers

PuppyMonkey · 22/09/2018 15:34

Aww, RIP. Ain’t No Pleasing You is such a great song.Sad

RomanyRoots · 22/09/2018 15:36

Aw, RIP Chas.

Ditto to "Ain't No Pleasin You"

Asterado · 22/09/2018 15:39

I sing ‘Ain’t No Pleasing You’ to my DDs often. It’s DD2s theme song. ‘Rabbit’ is DD1s...

QuitMoaning · 22/09/2018 15:40

Gutted. My OH is just having a siesta (we are on holiday) and he doesn’t yet know. He will be really upset. He interacts with Chas and his family fairly regularly due to his work but never told him he has always been a massive fan of his. Chas was a true gent with lots of talent. RIP.

JeremyCorbynsBeard · 22/09/2018 15:44

Heard "Ain't No Pleasing You" on the radio earlier, and remembered just how much I love that song. Didn't realise Chas had died.

Rightreckoner that's a lovely song, I'd never heard it before.

PerkingFaintly · 22/09/2018 15:48

Ah no. Such a part of my childhood. RIP Chas Flowers

Scabetty · 22/09/2018 16:28

Very sad Sad

MrsMozart · 22/09/2018 16:31

Oh Sad May he rest in peace.

RubyLux · 22/09/2018 17:43

So sad to read this news.
They were a big part of my youth.

ForalltheSaints · 22/09/2018 19:00

I was sad to hear the news of Chas's death. RIP and thoughts for his family and for Dave (Peacock). I was shocked at how unwell he looked when he was on Later with Jools Holland earlier this year, but even so, he was only 74.

Happy memories of seeing Chas and Dave in 2005, who were great fun and every bit as good live as you would expect. The tribute on BBC News recognised that he was a fine musician.

WhiskyTangoFoxtrot · 22/09/2018 19:11

Too young!

I wasn't a huge fan, but thought their stuff was fun and I enjoyed it.

I saw an obit on the news earlier. Like many of his showbusiness generation, he was both talented and skilled.

ScreamingValenta · 22/09/2018 19:14

Their songs always cheer me up. RIP.

Gohackyourself · 22/09/2018 20:09

I saw chas An Dave in September last year, brilliant night and he looked so well. Have a great photo too of my dad, brother and I but it’ll give my face away here!
We waited for them both out back in pouring rain for 50 mins just to say hello, I’m so pleased we did.
Was bought up in cockney family and my nan loved them, so a little chink of nice memories dims with another loss.
RIP chas, now go wake em upstairs with some tunes .

ForalltheSaints · 28/09/2018 21:15

Just saw a BBC 4 documentary and it made me very sad that Chas will never perform again.

Partridgeamongstthepigeons · 28/09/2018 21:39

Same here. My dad knew Dave in his youth and my FIL knew Chas. 'Ain't no pleasing you're a great song. I had no idea he had worked with so many huge names as well. Rest in Peace Chas x
