Which Quality Street would you not have?

apparently John Lewis are letting you pick Quality Street to fill your own tin. Was talking to Dd earlier and I'm a bit worried that she would totally miss out the pink fudge one - which is one of my faves! I'm not going to call on her at Christmas then!

What would you include loads of (orange cream in plain chocolate) and miss out (coconut, obv)?

And is this a good idea anyway? Or do we need the toffee penny to remind us that we cannot have all we want, even at Christmas?

Mine would literally be a box of strawberry creams if I was choosing 😂 maybe some toffee pennies for a bit of variety.

Honestly, there’s not a quality street I won’t eat!

Watto1 · 22/09/2018 14:16

No, no, no. Keep all the toffees and get rid of the orange and strawberry creams.

Chocolatecoffeeaddict · 22/09/2018 14:17

I would miss out the coconut and hard toffee ones. I like everything else.

I’d get rid of the brown one and the blue one. My favourite is the toffee stick and the pink one.

EmmaC78 · 22/09/2018 14:18

I love the strawberry and any of the nut ones. I hate any of the toffee ones.

MorningsEleven · 22/09/2018 14:18

Bye bye toffee ones.

FinallyFree123456789 · 22/09/2018 14:18

I would keep the brown, blue and pink one - everything else would be out

Maybe we should find other prepped to swap tins with ha!

Belindabauer · 22/09/2018 14:19

The purple one is my favourite . I'd get rid of Orange cream.

BerriesandLeaves · 22/09/2018 14:21

I'd get rid of fruit creams and toffees and keep the others

PenguinSaidEverything · 22/09/2018 14:21

No. This is wrong. If you only choose your favourites you would end up valuing them less. You have to have variety and you need the slightly-crap ones to make you appreciate the other ones. I’m sorry but I am prepared to physically fight anyone who thinks differently AngryGrin

UnderHerEye · 22/09/2018 14:22

This is a really good idea! Purple ones, green triangle ones and strawberry and orange creams would be my choice. Just a regular size box for me though.
Perfect!

NothingOnTellyAgain · 22/09/2018 14:24

I don't really like quality street and when passed the tin will dig around for the toffees and failing that will pass.

Deathraystare · 22/09/2018 14:26

I would not pick the orange or strawberry creams which is weird because I love the Charbonnel et Walker rose and violet creams!

Greywind1523 · 22/09/2018 14:27

I’d get rid of the orange creme and toffee penny.

TittyGolightly · 22/09/2018 14:27

None of them. Nestle bastards.

LBOCS2 · 22/09/2018 14:29

I went and did this yesterday - it's £12 for 1.2kg of pick and mix quality st, £15 if you want a personalised tin. I'm so pleased with it!

fessmess · 22/09/2018 14:29

I would leave orange and strawberry creams. Taste like shampoo to me Envy

clary · 22/09/2018 14:31

See penguin that's what I thought, you eat he ones you like, then the ones that are ok, then take the last few in to work for your weird mate who likes coconut,

Titty you're right of course, I don't like nestle either. Blame dd for the debate 😀

PiperPublickOccurrences · 22/09/2018 14:32

All of it's palm oil filled artificial gloop and made by Nestle. Yuk.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 22/09/2018 14:32

I don't really like any of them, but if we ever have a tin in our house then nobody at all eats the coconut or coffee ones (I think coffee creams have been discontinued now anyway), and the strawberry and orange creams are for when the kids have a sweet tooth and there's nothing else to be had in the house.

ScarlettSahara · 22/09/2018 14:44

Used to like purple & green triangle but last year we had a tin & I felt the centres all tasted ‘chemically’ ( forgive lack of appropriate adjective) & all the chocolate coating tasted of orange to me.

Also disappointed with ’Roses’ - no more foil wrappers & oily tasting chocolate. So disappointed that Nestle & Kraft have ruined our chocolate so not sure what we will purchase instead.

Apologies fot the de-rail OP- like the idea in principle though.

ScarlettSahara · 22/09/2018 14:48

Ooops - did not read properly -would have kept purple & green triangle & lose orange & toffees. (sitting here with ‘the shivers’) but think I need to start a new thread about alternative Christmas chocs.

Ixnayonthehombre · 22/09/2018 14:51

I was floored when I discovered my dp favourites are the toffee penny and fingers. In our house, they are always left there for months. Personally I'd leave them out along with the Orange creams and I'd have everything else. I miss the coffee creams.

MysteriousQuinn · 22/09/2018 14:57

Wish theyd do this with roses! Not a fan of quality street, nestle chocolate tastes cheap. Mind you Cadburys is not much better these days.
