Yankee candle electric wax warmer

Hello all!
Wasn’t sure where to post this sorry.
I have been gifted a yankee candle electric wax melter. It’s blue mosaic design and lights up.
My question is, do I have to use a wax melt in it or can I use it as an ordinary light? Worried that the ceramic top that holds the melt will crack!
Also, could I put hot water and essential oil in?

Hello I have a couple of those at home it's probably best not to use them as just a light as it may cause damage to the ceramic melt holder if there's nothing in in mind are slightly different my wax holders are glass .
And yes you can use water and essential oil .

It has what looks like a plastic cap between the ceramic and the top of the light
