when did they start walking?

My dd is 5.5 months and has just started crawling. My ds was quite a bit later so am just curious when I can expect her to walk. I know it probably varies massively but interested in others' experiences!

Dc1 - crawled 1 day before 6 months and walked at 9 months

Dc2 - was a bit later crawled at 7 months walked at 10 months.

Both of mine were ‘considered’ early crawlers and walkers by my health visitor as they were walking before 1.

Commando crawling at 5m+1day. All 4’s and fast by 6months. Cpl if steps and late 9 months then nothing at all until 11.5m when he just stood up and walked like an adult. No bow legs or much falling just marching around like a pro 😂. He was chunky and very sturdy though. Came out with really strong neck and legs from birth.

DS1 crawled at 9 1/2 months and cruising at 10 1/2 months and walked the day after his 1st birthday.

DS2 crawled at 6 months, cruising at 6 1/2 months and walked... the day after his first birthday!

DS1 became confident on his feet much earlier than DS2, and was happily running by 14mo and walked quite some distance early on- by 15mo he would walk to playgroup and back half a mile each way.

DC1 at 4.5 months, walked at 10.5 months. The other two were later to crawl and later to walk.

An early walker can be a total ball ache though. Mine had abandoned his pushchair almost entirely by 18 months. I’d be in Boots chasing my baby around like Pac-Man while all the other kids same age were sitting in pushchairs while their Mums leisurely browsed the shelves. Then you think “Wft was I thinking encouraging early walking!?”

My Dd crawled at 4.5 months, was pulling up to stand before 6 months and walked at 9 months. At 4.5 years she still got really good motor skills.

DD didn't crawl before 6 months but, as a baby, I was crawling at 5.5 months (I've seen it noted in my baby book). I learned to walk around 15 months. I was a cautious child and was cruising a looooing time before taking the plunge.
