Which funny little box that talks do I want?

At the risk of sounding like I have been living in a cave the whole echo dot, google, alexa thingy has passed me by.

The kids would like one of these strange little talking box things for Christmas.

We have wifi and use a mix of Samsung anf Iphones if that makes any difference. As far as I can tell it will mainly be used for asking it silly queations and asking it to play music but i suppose as we get used to it we might want it to remind us things etc

So which one do we want?

we have an amazon echo first generation and love it. she can tell funny stories, play games etc which the kids love

None, too much chance of any of them being hacked/used to eavesdrop.

Watching with interest. I was mulling over getting one the other day but don't know the first thing about them.

I want one that repeatedly says 'shoes' to the DC until I tell it to stop. It would save me losing my voice and wouldn't get shouty like I do.

you can set reminders on alexa for her to do that :)) hawkeyeinconfusion

I love our google home mini but we did need to pay for Spotify. I was too worried that the Alexa might order stuff on amazon for me.
