DD has hip dysplasia and had her op on Wednesday and is now in a spica cast.

She's absolutely exhausted and is just screaming and crying constantly. When she does eventually fall asleep, the nurses and drs come in and wake her up which doesn't help. I know they are only doing their job but it's so unfair my poor DD.

I know the first few weeks will be the hardest but I already feel so drained and my head is battered Sad

You have my sympathy - my 14 yr old DD had a knee ligament reconstruction on Tuesday & we got home yesterday evening.

It’s utterly exhausting being in there & not being able to do anything for their pain. It was strange last night not being woken up for obs every few hours! DD was really down yesterday morning & I was worried that she couldn’t find the motivation to get up & mobile on her crutches so that they’d discharge her, but she pulled out all the stops in the afternoon & somehow managed to get up & down a flight of stairs.

She’s been so much brighter today just through being at home, even though just getting to the toilet is a 10 minute painful shuffle. Hang in there, it will get easier.
