Has anyone here been truly suicidal in the past but managed to turn their life around without family? (poss triggering)

I'm looking for stories on how you managed it. I'm in a grim place right now. Not suicidal this minute but I think about it sometimes as an escape. I'm in long-term therapy for extreme abuse. I want to get my life back but I just don't know how. Life terrifies me. Positive stories from those who've come out the other side would be greatly appreciated.

Yep, I have been there and things have turned around. It was a combination of time and good medication that kept me afloat long enough for circumstances to change and for me to feel strong enough to grab some good opportunities that made things better.

I can't overemphasise how much different things feel in a relatively short time. I went from planning my death to actual contentment (and sometimes happiness and hilarity). It happens. Just keep hanging on.
