Please help an idiot in pain

2 weeks ago I went to the doctors with ear ache. Dr said it was infected and gave antibiotics.

I was sporadic in taking them because my memory is shit, didn't finish the course.

Now I'm in agony again. I had 9 antibiotics left, took one last night and will again this morning but obviously don't have a full course. Can I ask for more? Will they tell me off? Can I fib and say I took them but it's still bad Blush

No point starting a new course if you are not going to be able to finish it. Sometimes infections if not dealt with properly can come back worse. I suggest you get yourself back to the doctors pronto. Have a proper check. Be honest that you didn't finish the course or you could be prescribed a stronger dose that you don't really need. Antibiotics are not good for the system. They weaken your immune system.

Thanks, I'm so annoyed with myself.

Next time set a reminder in your phone for when you need to take them. I am also terrible at remembering to take pills and I have to do this.

Go back and tell the truth! Don't worry. Better put a reminder on your phone for the next lot.

I'm in work all day so I'll have to ring and hope for the best.

Of course you're in agony, you didn't finish or take your antibiotics as prescribed!
If you can't take them regularly don't ask for more. If you can set a regular alarm and take them then go back to Dr and be honest. You'll now need a stronger script. The more you mess with stuff like this the more likely it is that you'll build up resistance to antibiotics.
