Positive test following miscarriage

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but I'm looking for some advice.

I had a medical management of miscarriage in August and took a test 3 weeks after as advised which was negative.

This week (4 weeks after miscarriage) I took another test as I had a slight feeling I may be pregnant and a strong line came up immediately.

I'm worried that there might be retained products as I don't have any strong symptoms like I have in my other pregnancies and am not sure what to do from here. We weren't trying to get pregnant again and were using barrier methods.

Has this happened to anyone?

It happened to me a few years ago. I did have a small amount of retained placenta. Hcg levels and a scan showed this. By week 6 it was still there and I had to go for surgical management. I felt Instantly better and more positive about going forward.
