Best duvet recommendations please

Winner of the least exciting thread goes to...

Just realised that my duvet is older than DS who is nigh on 7!

I'm on the hunt for a new one. DH and I have a cold bedroom, but ideally would like something we can change round, one of those ones where you can attach a higher tog to in the winter. I hate duck feathers and down, so a decent synthetic is required. Ideally something washable but this is not absolutely needed.

I have looked on amazon but I have no idea. Needs to be less than £100 please.

No idea

Used to have a down duvet that floated around me and I could use winter and summer

Got synthetic now and it’s shit in comparison

Have a look on Amazon for bedding heaven.

Fogarty slight seconds for around a third of the price. Usually what's wrong is a bit of wonky stitching but you don't see it when it's in the cover

Baavet, look at their bargain bin

NannyR · 20/09/2018 19:39

Another vote for baavet, I love mine! I got mine in the bargain section too.

EnchantersNightshade · 20/09/2018 19:39

About to say exactly the same ratspeaker Grin

I just get mine from Asda and they are fine

LabiaMinoraPissusFlapus · 20/09/2018 19:42

Baavet is the best!

MulticolourMophead · 20/09/2018 19:46

I can't afford it right now, but I've been looking at wool duvets for the future. I've seen some that can be fastened together to increase togs ratings.

ThunderOnlyHappens · 20/09/2018 19:52

The baavets look amazing, what weight wool would you recommend?

Tempted by the fogerty ones too. One is currently sat in my amazon basket, thank you for showing me the seconds.

I used to go to bhs for this sort of thing. Gawd I miss that shop, ropey as it was I used to buy loads of things from there!

There's a 500gm and a 600gm for a very good price. I worry that the 500 would be chilly and the 600 would be boiling??

I got one of the lightweight baavets, it was in the bargain section because it was slightly heavier weight than their specification, but not as heavy as the medium weight one. In very hot weather, it's too warm and when my bedroom temp drops below 14 degrees I need one or two extra blankets, but the rest of the year it's fine and keeps me at the perfect temperature (disclaimer; I don't tend to feel the cold much)

NannyR · 20/09/2018 20:17

Looking at the website, the lightweight one is 300-350g, mine is like the one in the bargain box that's 365g.

ratspeaker · 20/09/2018 20:23

Mine is 350g.
I find it cosy and snuggly. It fits around my ears like a blanket.

combatbarbie · 20/09/2018 20:29

I absolutely love my fogarty one!! Teamed with high thread hotel type duvet it is Devine!!!

BertieBotts · 20/09/2018 20:40

I really like the ikea one we have, it's the Lyocell one which is a synthetic filling but much better than polyester (IMO). We have the medium heat one which in UK is the 7.5 tog. The duvet sizes are consistent with normal sets I believe unlike their mattresses, so no weird sizing issues to worry about.

BertieBotts · 20/09/2018 20:42

Unfortunately they don't do the multi season ikea one in the UK.

BertieBotts · 20/09/2018 20:43

If you have any trips to France planned?? Grin www.ikea.com/fr/fr/catalog/products/10300767/

Silk duvet. So much nicer than synthetic.
