If you have a backpack or satchel for work, what do you have?

I'm looking for one roomy enough to take an A4 size pad, slim compact laptop (which I haven't bough yet either...) and an assortment of whatever else lives in my usual tote bag - phone, charger, small make up bag, bottle of water, coffee cup, sandwich, etc. So it has to be fairly practical.

If you have such a bag, what do you have? I don't know where to start looking. It's been ages since I've bought a backpack and feel like I'm back at high school!

I cycle to work and use a Nike backpack. Probably not quite what you had in mind.

I have an Adidas back pack for my work stuff. Again, probably not what you had in mind! It probably looks more like I'm going to school than work!

I have a TARDIS backpack. It even has a little box inside that says 'Name:....... Class:......'

DH has a much more sensible Jansport one. It's great because it's got padded straps, and some padding in the back so his laptop and things don't dig in. It's also waterproof which mine is not!

I’ve been using a cheap vans one I bought years ago, but the corners are fraying and it’s just not winterproof.

I need a decent waterproof one with a metric fuckton of pockets in it.

The search will continue.

I preferred it to a traditional rucksack style though.

Oh, some great ideas here! And a good range of prices too which is helpful. I'd like to get something fairly cheap and cheerful pretty instantly but with an eye to saving up for a really nice one down the line.

I’ve got a Cambridge Satchel in bright leaf green. Had it about 5 years, looks good as new and gets lots of comments

OP i bought mine from accessorize over 5 years ago and its still going strong. That includes carrying a heavy laptop on two trains and 200 miles back and forth twice a day. Also been with me on many a holiday abroad.
They've got a really good sale on at the moment too.

I've got a black Herschel rucksack and its fab!
