I’m supposed to be starting a new job the week after next but dbs is still in process. Am a bit worried as I finish my current job next week and could do without a period of unemployment.

I gave the completed form to my new employer mid August but they didn’t send it off until 6th sept for some reason!

About ten days

I received mine around a week ago. It took 24 hours to reach the certificate printing stage but actually printing it and dispatching it took another 6 days or so.

It also depends on your local police force - some take much longer than others.

I think when I googled it Norfolk and Norwich averaged about 2 days or something. The MET and Kent took much much longer.

It seemed to progress quickly up until stage 4 and then took about 6 weeks to get to the certificate printing stage. This was during the summer though when they are much busier with graduates and teachers starting new jobs.
Hopefully you will hear back soon.

Unrelated but @nicoandtheniners I didn't clock your username.... Love it

Went to Brixton last week.....

wizzywig · 21/09/2018 09:04

My enhanced one took approx 4 weeks (I applied at the end of August)

I work for an umbrella company that processes dbs applications. On average they take 10-14 days to come back.

But then others take longer, for no apparent reason. They’ll only chase it up if there’s been no progress for 60 days.

If for whatever reason you change jobs frequently then join the update service, definitely.

DH had one last week that took 48 hours !
It was a government one though and the dept did it on his behalf so that probably made it extra quick

Have got my tracking number and the dbs form was only received on the 20th sept. I’ve no idea why it took over a month for HR to get my form to them. It’s at stage 2. I feel a bit sick.

I get this all the time, applicants hand over their forms and then weeks later it arrives with us!

Don’t panic, like other have said they can go through really really quickly. Hopefully yours will be one of those.

@BalthazarImpresario

Did you enjoy Brixton? I went into the draw for tickets purchasing rights and got an email saying I could log on in the morning to try and buy tickets. I even by a fluke had the day off work but then I was asked my the new job if I could attend a meeting that day, get to know people, etc.

I was tempted to say no but to be honest I have bad anxiety anyway and was a bit freaked out at the thought of going on my own. But to be so close to them at such a small venue must have been amazing.

I am consoling myself with a copy of Trench which has been signed by Tyler and josh!

@nicoandtheniners we were seated but yeah it was amazing, last time I saw them I wasn't much of a fan but soon became one.
The queues were ridiculous to get in but so worth it.

Signed copy!!! That's brilliant.

NicoAndTheNiners · 25/09/2018 15:25

I’m glad you enjoyed it. I’d read some slightly negative reviews, that it was a short set and the energy wasn’t great. I’ve seen a recording of it on YouTube and thought it looked great.

I guess for £35 you can’t complain even if it wasn’t the length of a full stadium concert......and you know they’re going to be practicing the new stuff so may be concentrating on that more than usual.

The last 2 I have processed have come back within 24 hours! Very strange.

BalthazarImpresario · 25/09/2018 16:59

@nicoandtheniners yeah it felt short but it was still 1hr25ish minutes. I've seen the killers a few lines and the set has been an hour. I thought the energy was amazing, yes some of the previous tricks were not present purely because of the size.

I think some fans need to remember that they are 30yr old men who haven't played in a year and who were playing new songs live/compete for the first time ever, but I do get the feeling that they can't comprehend that sometimes.
